The environment was a rocker/hippie/street fusion which might sound strange, but trust me it worked very well. Similar to Ed Hardy, but more retro rocker, True Religion was more of an innovative reflection of the late 1960’s, early 1970’s. While roaming around backstage, I had the opportunity to talk with True Religion designer, Jeff Lubell. He told me that his clothing line, and ideas comes from his soul. He had this idea of having a bohemian/hippie/rocker clothing line from like the 1960’s and 70’s. This was only backed up during the show itself with the atmosphere; the lights went up and the models marched out with attitude to the music of Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Lynard Skynard, Pink Floyd, and other artists of the time. Lee Dalberg also provided his signature rock bands which made the show even more special. So far, the True Religion show is my favorite show of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, but we have to wait until Sunday for my final pick!
