Last night was the Official Kick-Off Party for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2014 Collections. Swim Week had a wet start as passing rain storms soaked the South Beach area, but that did not stop the people from coming to The Raleigh.
Roxy Swimwear debuted their ‘Pop Surf’ collection in a presentation style format, which enhanced the relaxed party vibe in the Oasis tent. Models posed on podiums around the tent, elegantly displaying the Roxy Pop Surf Collection. As attendees mingled and ogled over the models, they enjoyed a wide range of refreshments from deviled-eggs, lobster roll, and shrimp toast, to some signature cocktails, like the popular watermelon cooler (a new favorite of your loyal writer).
The Roxy Pop Surf Collection was comprised of patterns and hot colors, that engaged both one and two-piece suits. A refreshing and different take on the swimsuit, was the legging swimwear which had a very eye-catching print. My personal favorite from the show was the two piece (picture below), which had a printed top that was bathed in color and palm trees.
After the presentation and Kick-Off Party at The Raleigh, things picked up over at the SLS Hotel, specifically in the Hyde Beach club. Runway shows had been going on over the front pool, while party-goers were living it up in the back. To put it simply: the music was great, the models/fashion were gorgeous, and the alcohol was in full stock.
If last night was the night to set the tone for the rest of Swim Week, then I am even more excited for what is in store this week.
