Art Basel Gets Ready For Red Carter Swimwear To Debut December 4TH

Miami’s Golden boy, Red Cater has designed his latest collection to be wearable pieces of art by using fabric prints from contemporary Miami artist Carlos Betancourt. “Art is everywhere, anywhere, all the time,” says Carlos Betancourt . This new line of swimwear is scheduled to debut during ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH. The collection will be sold exclusively at BARNEYS stores to benefit The United Way. “Combining art and fashion never goes out of style” states Red Carter.

The highly anticipated collaboration will be unveiled at a launch party hosted by Red Carter and Carlos Betancourt. To be held this evening at Barneys Co-op Miami Beach store, December 4, 2009 from 8PM to 10PM.

ABOUT CARLOS BETANCOURT

Artist Carlos Betancourt was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1981 he moved to Miami, Florida. Mr. Betancourt’s artwork is part of public collections such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, The Miami Art Museum, The San Antonio Museum of Art in Texas, The Bass Museum in Miami Beach, etc.  Betancourt’s artwork has been included in multiple solo and group exhibitions as well as fairs such as Art Basel and Arco.  He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the Florida Department of State Millennium Cultural Recognition Award, a National Endowment for the Arts grant and the Miami Beach Arts Council Grant.  He has been awarded commissions to create artworks for various Art in Public Places programs.  Betancourt is co-founder of 801 Projects, an arts center that provides studio spaces for visual artists based in Miami.

As part of Hello Kitty’s 35th Anniversary celebration, Sanrio Global Consumer Products is pleased to announce a new partnership with Coveroo, creator of high-quality custom cell phone covers for all major brands of phones.  Debuting in early November with 15 limited edition Hello Kitty Coveroo designs, the collaboration brings SANRIO® characters to life through the cell phone, produced and released in conjunction with the pop icon’s 35th Anniversary on November 1st.

Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research and Genetic Denim present: THE GABRIELLE JEAN

I wanted to let you know Genetic Denim and Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research have collaborated on an amazing project, creating a limited-edition “Gabrielle” Jean.

The “Gabrielle” will be available in Genetic Denim’s Shane skinny jean.  The Shane is a tight, form-fitting and super slimming silhouette that elongates the leg, making it Genetic Denim’s most popular style.  The Gabrielle will have the Foundation’s angel logo stitched on the coin pocket in the Foundation’s signature red color.  The logo is also screen printed over the Genetic Denim back patch to further emphasize the co-branded project. Gabrielle lost her long and valiant struggle with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) at the young age of 27.  It was Gabrielle’s wish that a foundation be created to help spare others the suffering she endured. Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research funds basic and clinical medical research in both conventional and integrative disciplines which focus on prevention, treatment and quality of life issues of leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers.  To date, the Foundation has awarded nearly $11 million in Medical Research Awards making Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation one of the largest non-governmental sources of grant support to blood cancer researchers at the nation’s leading institutions.
