A style that is unique enough to even stand out in the mayhem and diversity of Miami Beach, Red Carter’s Swimwear line for summer 2007, is incredibly funky. Known to create designs that are 60’s go-go inspired, Red Carter is infamous for saying that he visualizes himself as the Austin Powers of the bikini business.(story continues below photo)

Red Carter 2007 Swimwear Collection.

Mainly designed using bold hues such as aqua, black, baby pink, and turquoise this barely-there bikini wear is outrageously fun and flirty. Dominating the runway this season were the models wearing the extremely low-rise patterned boy short bottoms paired with a form-fitting wired brazier like top. Bold with character, Red Carter’s styles are an unbelievable mesh between a natural bohemian fashion and that groovy yet sexy era known as the 60’s. Producing a swimwear line that takes us back in time is admirable and incredibly inventive. Using accessories that are earthy and natural such as beaded seashells and towel head-wraps, Red Carter of South Beach proved himself to be an originator. Born in Santa Ana, California, Red grew up studying the everyday bikinis that graced the shores of his home. Eventually attending the Otis/Parson School of Art & Design located in Los Angeles, California, Red Carter has progressed by designing for Guess, Victoria’s Secret, and Mossimo swimswear. When creating his line for this summer’s steamy Miami months, Red said, “Miami is a beautifully painted lady by day, a wild neon glam rock star at night. Thus my collection this season represents both sides of what Miami has to offer-historic days and hot sexy nights.”
