2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim is Going to be a Summer Splash!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim returns with its seventh year to celebrate all-things swim with five days of runway shows.  The annual fashion showcase in Miami is the world’s leading swimwear designer platform and will debut Poko Pano and Luli Fama Spring/Summer 2012 collections at South Beach’s most illustrious venue, The Raleigh Hotel. In addition, Cosmopolitan en español will host their annual ‘Summer Splash’ event.

On Thursday, July 14, 2011 to kick off Swim Week 2012, Cosmopolitan en español will return to The Setai to host the 5th annual ‘Summer Splash’. A 2-hour cocktail reception starting at 8:00 p.m., followed by a Summer 2012 multi-designer fashion show at 10:00 p.m. will be emceed by television journalist, Jackie Guerrido. The evening will showcase the season’s must-have apparel and accessories from nationally known retailers including K-Mart, who also joined forces with last year’s designer line-up. Presenting sponsors CoverGirl and Pantene will complete each look with heat and humidity-friendly make-up and hair, respectively. Following the show, guests are invited to a live DJ performance afterparty.

On Friday, July 15, 2011 at 8:00 p.m., Designer Paolo Robba of Poko Pano Swimwear will celebrate the showcase of its Summer 2012 collection in the Oasis tent at The Raleigh Hotel.

On Sunday, July 17, 2011, Luli Fama will showcase its Spring/Summer 2012 collection at The Raleigh Hotel’s Oasis tent. Luli Fama brings the ultimate celebration to the forefront with her collection entitled ‘La Vida es un Carnaval.’ Reminiscent of fun-filled street carnivals in Havana, the styles are sultry, playful yet sweet. Luli Fama continues the use of vibrant colors and embellishments including crystals and gold accents. Prints include paisley and mosaic to exotic animal and tribal patterns. The sexy silhouettes feature wavy stitched triangles, bandeaus and pushup underwire for tops and of course, Luli Fama’s signature ruched back bottoms to provide the illusion of the perfect derriere.
